Role: Doors Open Toronto Volunteers
Term: May 24 & 25, 2025 (2 days only)
Hours: 4 hour shifts (9:30a.m. - 1:30p.m. & 1:30p.m. - 5:30p.m.)
Location: 54 Wolseley St. - nearest intersection Queen St. W & Bathurst St.

ABOUT US:
Stella’s Place is a community-based mental health agency dedicated to supporting young adults (ages 16-29) experiencing mental health challenges. We provide innovative, evidence-based services in a low-barrier and youth-friendly environment, including individual therapy, group programs, peer support, and system navigation.
Mission: Partnering with young adults 16-29 years old and professionals to provide a collaborative, innovative model of mental health services.

ABOUT DOORS OPEN TORONTO:
On the weekend of May 24 & 25, 2025, Stella’s Place has been invited to participate in the Doors Open Toronto Weekend.
Explore Toronto’s architectural, historical, cultural and socially significant buildings for free during the Doors Open weekend. This year’s theme is play! The City is our Playground. Discover Hidden Histories, uncover untold stories from across the city through a variety of Open House experiences, engaging tours and insightful talks.
Stella’s Place will participate in the event both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We are seeking many Volunteers for this event for the following times:
Orientation & Training (Required): Thursday, May 22, 2025 – from 5pm to 8pm
Choice of at least two (2) shifts:
Saturday, May 24, 2025 – 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
Saturday, May 24, 2025 – 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Sunday, May 25, 2025 – 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
Sunday, May 25, 2025 – 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Volunteer will provide information to the Doors Open Participants by:
- Attending the mandatory orientation session on May 22, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm
- Ensuring you are aware of your assignments and requirements for your station/role, provided during orientation
- Being on site during the identified and agreed upon weekend shifts
- Learning the information required to impart the required information to the participants based on your station/volunteer role for the weekend
- Covering your assigned station during the hours agreed-upon
Skills
The volunteer should possess a strong commitment towards volunteering at Stella’s Place.
- Experience with customer service, interacting with others
- Willing to collaborate with staff, participants and Doors Open Team, if necessary
- Take initiative and responsibility for tasks, effective organizational and time management skills, very punctual
- Interest in mental health and/or architecture (for this event solely)
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT VOLUNTEER HOURS
We will gladly offer volunteer hours towards high school graduation requirements.
